In the midst of dissension, social unrest and turmoil, it would be most damaging to defund the police. The culture of lawlessness must stop. Joe Biden wants “redirect” police funding, which is no different than defunding the police.
We Asian Pacific Americans cannot be intimidated and submit to those who do not respect order. We have seen the rebellious looting of businesses, violence out in the streets of our nation and the disrespect for the men and women who protect our streets, neighborhoods and keep us from harm. In the Chinatown District, the police have been instrumental in reaching out to businesses, and customers who have been burglarized. Through outreach, education is provided to the community and Asian Pacific Americans work hand in hand to provide food drives and back to school supplies to the children.
We cannot ignore violence we must support our men and women without whose protection crime will spread like a disease. When beatings, aggression, murders, rapes, domestic violence, child abuse happens, whom are you going to call for help. We need 911 and the immediate response of law enforcement. No one has the right to take the law into their hands or the right to attack and shoot innocent bystanders and police officers who guard for our safety. As the police officer who was shot while on duty at a demonstration on the Las Vegas Strip. Injured, paralyzed and undergoing extensive treatment. Our men and women in service have rights. They have families. They too are entitled to protection.
We must stand Strong in Unity. Do not Defund.
