The Somerset Academy Skye Pointe middle school and elementary school track teams competed in NCSAA state championship meets on April 12 at The Meadows School.
The 5th-6th grade girls finished third place overall. They were led by Sia Tuiaana, who finished 2nd in the 800, and Abi Vallet, who placed 7th in the 400. Ivelyesse Gonzales was 4th in the shot put and Katie Smoot 7th in her 400 meter race.

On the boys side, Lincoln Larsen placed 8th in the mile and 6th in the 800.
In the elementary school track meet, the Skye Pointe girls team finished third overall. Kate Huffines finished 5th in the 800 and 6th in the mile race. Kate Pickens also placed 8th in the mile.
Kali Martinez finished 4th in the 100 and 3rd in the 200, while Lexi Larsen was 6th in her 800 and 7th in her mile race. Layken Farnham was 6th in the mile and 7th in the 800.
For the boys team, Carlos Garcia placed 5th in the mile, 5th in the 400 and 8th in the 800. Madden McCormick finished 8th in the mile. Henry Reynolds was 6th in his mile race and 8th in the 800.
